OPEN SPACE ADVISORY COMMITTEE

REGULAR MEETING
Members Present: Chairman Nick Norton, Jay Gigliotti, Jay Cohen, Rob Misbach
Members Absent: Liz Gillman, William Hochhlozer, Adam Turner
Others Present: None
1. Call Meeting to Order: Chairman Norton called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
2. Citizen’s Comments: None
3. Approval of the January 13, 2009 Regular Meeting Minutes: J. Gigliotti motioned to approve the January 13, 2009 regular meeting minutes, seconded by
J. Cohen. All members present voted in favor. MOTION CARRIED.
4. Land Acquisitions:
a. Mohegan Land Trust: Then Mohegan Land Trust is dissolving. There are 18 acres of land on Thornridge Drive that they would like to give to the Colchester Land Trust. The land was previously heavily populated with Indians. The topography information was not available yet.
5. Farm Study Report: Discussing the report with the farmers still remains an item of concern. The farmers will most likely not come to a meeting held at town hall.
J. Cohen suggested again that the discussion take place someplace where the farmers will already be, such as the grange. He will get Chairman Norton a phone number for the contact at the grange.
6. Any Other Business Deemed Necessary: The Open Space Plan is not being used. To become more acquainted with the plan the committee will begin reviewing sections of the plan at each meeting.
7. Adjournment: J. Gigliotti motioned to adjourn, seconded by R. Misbach. All members present voted in favor. MOTION CARRIED.
Chairman Norton adjourned the meeting at 6:15 p.m.
