To promote and protect the health and quality of life of Colchester residents by providing a wide range of health services through environmental inspections, educational programs, and use of the media.
The Colchester Health Department provides public health services to the residents of Colchester. Environmental services include soils testing for subsurface sewage disposal systems, food service inspections, and child day care inspections. Health education programs addressing good nutrition, smoking cessation, safe food handling and preparation, radon awareness, and others are offered throughout the year. Health promotion programs include monthly blood pressure clinics at the Colchester Senior Center, two senior housing communities, and Town Hall, as well as fall time influenza clinics at the Senior Center and Town Hall.
