Creating Community Through People, Parks & Programs

Q.  Can I register for any youth sports (e.g. baseball, soccer, etc.) through Parks & Recreation?

A.  None of the youth sports leagues, or adult sports leagues, are run by Parks & Recreation.  They are all independent associations with their own bylaws, policies and procedures.  However, we do work closely with these groups, by supporting their missions and accommodating their fields and facility needs.  To see the contact information for each league, visit our "sports leagues" page.

Q.  How can I find out if the fields are open or closed?

A.  Each weekday during sports season, we inspect the fields in the early afternoon and post the field status at 3pm.  The status is posted on our home page (www.colchesterct.gov/parks), on our voicemail (537-7297), and sent out on our mass email list.  On weekends, the leagues holding reservations for the fields make the closure decision, based on the training they have received from our department.

Q.  What is your refund policy?

A.  Colchester Parks & Recreation stands behind all of its programs and activities with a satisfaction guarantee.  If you are not completely satisfied, we will do what it takes to make things right.

Q.  What is the admission to the Spray Park and where is it located?

A.  The Spray Park, like all recreation facilities, is free and open to the public - there is no cost.  Some facilities are available for reservation for private parties; however, the spray park is not reservable.  The spray park is located at our Recreation Complex on 215 Old Hebron Rd.  Complete details are on our web site at: http://www.colchesterct.gov/Pages/ColchesterCT_Dept/PR/parks/recplex

Q. When does the Spray Park openclose for the season?

A. The spray park is generally open from Memorial Day until Labor day, although those dates may change.  After that it is weather dependent. We will keep the park open as long as it is safe to be used. Check the Parks and Recreation webpage at www.colchesterct.gov/parks for updates.
