Intern Hall of Fame
Each summer, Colchester Parks & Recreation takes on an intern who is seeking to enter the field of Parks & Recreation. This is a win-win partnership where the interns gain valuable hands-on experience in a municipal setting and our department gets much needed help during one of our busiest times of the year.
Below, you can see the interns we've had throughout the years, as well as where their life has taken them since. We consider them part of our extended family, and we like to think that we had some small role in their future successes!
Jesse Liebenson Morse - 2008 School: Uninversity of New Hampshire Degree: Recreation Management Policy (BA) - May 08
Matthew Mitchell - 2007 School: Eastern CT State University Degree: Sport & Leisure Management (BA) - May 08
Celebrated graduation by getting engaged and taking a nice vacation. Now in search of a full-time job in the field.
Jake Huebsch - 2006 School: St. Cloud State University (Minnesota) Degree: Recreation and Sports Management (BA) / Community Development/Urban Studies (BA) - Dec 07
Is currently working for Allianz Life Insurance Company in Minneapolis MN, Currently living in Chaska MN.
Suzanne (Trunek) Greenwald - 2005 School: Illinois State University Degree: Parks & Recreation (BA) - May 05
After leaving our department, Suzanne directed the Americorp program for the Girls Scouts Connecticut Trails Council. From there, she joined the Vista Vocational and Life Skills Center in Westbrook, CT, where she is now their Assistant Vocational Manager.
